This is a very friendly café with outside seating and plenty of seating inside if raining (more downstairs). Sitting outside you can watch the bustle of the busy market road, which is in the heart of the East End, a lively, friendly, place to shop. There's a lot to offer in the area in the way of fashion, music, food, and flowers. If you are a history lover Roman Road is situated on the oldest trade route in Britain. This is the route Boudicea took on her way from Colchester to London to burn the Romans, so you will have plenty to imagine watching life pass by sipping a decent coffee or cappuccino with a fresh sandwich made to order with more or less any filling you fancy.

I have been visiting Mono for some time. The manager and his staff provide a friendly and efficient service. Filled hot and cold baguettes and bagels are available and can be made to order. A good selection of hot and cold drinks are offered and most hot drinks come with a small biscuit. Seating is on two floors and at the front of the shop. I have noticed a higher level of staff retention at this café unlike some of the other nearby establishments. Moreover, I have noticed many customers returning to the shop. I usually order a latte and is always milky and refreshing. It is also pleasing to see staff clearing and cleaning tables. Comfortable seating and plenty of tables. Clean and functioning toilet. Background music does not intrude. Welcome respite from the hustle and bustle of Roman Road.

I have been going to this coffee shop for a while and have only ever found there coffee to be first class. There danish and carrot cake are top notch to. The shop is small but has outside seating and some more space downstairs. The staff are always happy to see you and thats not always the case in most places along Roman road. So in short if you want a great coffee this is the place to go.

Seating area outside had attracted me to this place, once you are inside and order a coffee and a sandwich, all the positive feeling had gone. I do like my coffee and i was assured by a staff member that it is strong and best tasting coffee. after adding two more shots to my cappuchino it still tasted very weak and i think their interprtertation of cappuchino is a coffe with dry froth on the top. Sandwich is more like cheap copy of subways. No identity, no taste for the food or coffee and totally waste of time and money. People sitting outside are more like classless stinking sweaty morons.
I would not recommend this place as it would be totally waste of time and money.
Only think i can recommend is the Roman road it self, there are plenty more cafes and restaurants so dont be put off the roman road just because of one waste of place cafe.
I will probably sit on the bench or even go in to one of the other cafes and restaurants with air conditioning to taste a proper cup of coffee and realy unique italian bread sandwich etc.
